 As an owner of a pair of black ultimate short Ugg boots I can see where both parties are coming from. I adore my boots; I wear them all the time and often will slip them on in the early morning so my feet don't get cold while I'm making coffee.  eBay.com - Is always a great place to get discounted merchandise. Although I wouldn't recommend used boots you can most likely find a pretty good pair starting for under $100. Unfortunately, because this is such a hot ticket item the price usually quickly escalates and you are likely to be competing with 10+ other buyers. Also, make sure that when buying on EBay that the product comes with the box and or receipt, just so you can make sure you are getting the real deal. 

 Australia Direct and David Z - These two stores often carry Uggs and occasionally have sales. There are numerous David Z stores around the country and you can look for them on their website at davidz.com. Australia Direct, which happens to be a website is actually currently having a sale where short boots are marked down to $120. The sale ends within the month, though.  Consignment Shops - Nicer versions of thrift shops, consignment stores often have designer products that are used but in fairly good condition. It's hard to tell when a good pair of boots may pop up but if their happens to be a store near you it may help to ask them to give you a call should a pair of Ugg's arrive.

 When shopping online look for sites that offer free shipping or discounts. 

 Using coupons that major stores may offer is a good way to get 20% + off of your purchase. 

 Other suggestions would be sale days at major department stores or opening up a store account which often times will allow you up to 15% off of your day's purchase. 

 Buy kids' sizes. The boy shoe size of a 6 is equivalent to a female 8, a boy 5 is a female 7, and so on. Check if there are any kid versions that are similar to what you like. Children sizes are renown for being cheaper! 

 ugg for cheap in the off season. It is unlikely that you will find a good pair on sale in the winter, but definetly check out your local shoe stores in the middle of summer. Chances are more likely that they will be discounted when the demand is not so great.
